Some of these are serious long-term goals, and some of these are much simpler things that I just want to try once to see if I enjoy them (e.g. CrossFit). All together, they're the health- and fitness-related things that I want to accomplish before I kick it.
In no particular order, and under constant revision (in the form of additions):
- Run a 50 mile ultramarathon (Note that I have not yet run a marathon. I like to dream big, haha)
- Try Bikram yoga
- Hike the Appalachian Trail in its entirety
- Be able to complete 10 pull ups
- Do something active (hike, swim, run a race) in all 50 states, and see some historic/famous sites along the way.
- Try CrossFit.
- Complete an Ironman triathlon
- Go Paleo for a month*
- Go vegan for a month*
- Complete a Tough Mudder
- Go skiing (I've always been too scared)
- Be the oldest woman to ________ (insert random fitness event here, such as "run a sub-4 hour marathon" or "swim the English channel," or "try to sign up for roller derby"). Alternative: hold an age group world record, such as the fasted 500 freestyle in the 90-100yrs age category.
*I have major concerns about both of these diets, as well as any diet that promotes the exclusion of entire food groups for reasons other than religion/ethics/allergies. However, I think I'll be able to offer more valuable critiques of these lifestyles once I've tried each of them out, even for only a month.
